About The Independent Studies Program             



Every session I will select participants to mentor based on an interview and a portfolio review.   This  program is ideal for those wish to work independently with the guidance and supervision of an experienced professional artist.  Designed for the intermediate or advanced level artist or student, this independent study program will encourage the participant to work creatively in a disciplined and organized way.  Working on one's own combined with an encouraging and meaningful exchange of ideas along with  an intensive period of guidance will help the participant come to an understanding of his or her own creative processes.

This program will assist the Artist in:

  • Creating a body of work for exhibition in a gallery
  • Explore new directions in their work
  • Achieve other individual creative and artistic goals


Program Components:

Duration:  January to December 2011
Each chosen student will schedule to meet  with me on an individual basis four times per session. Each meeting will be 1.5 hours in length and will involve a review of your creative goals and a constructive critique of your work and a discussion of recommended research and reading materials.

Depending on on the number of participants in the program I will also try to have all participants in the mentorship program meet once during the session for a one and a half hour group review of everyone's work. This will provide an opportunity for everyone to share and exchange ideas and learn how to present and talk about their work.

Please Note: We reserve the right to cancel this program at anytime; in such a case a full refund will be given. A $25.00 registration fee per student, per course and / or a charge for each class attended will be deducted from any emergency cancellation. No refund will be given after the meeting. There will be a fee of $5.00 for any cheque returned by the bank. We reserve the right to meetings due to unforeseen circumstances.
